Annual Meetings^

The Annual Meeting is the cornerstone get-together of the Document Academy. At its annual meetings, participants present new results, works in progress, reviews and experimental pieces. Presentations have ranged from traditional academic slide-based presentations to hands-on workshops to storytelling sessions. The Document Academy presents an engaging and liberating venue for research and discussion.

Since 2003, the Document Academy has been meeting annually. The first five meetings were held at the University of California, Berkeley. Since then, the annual meeting has found a new venue nearly every year, allowing for wider participation. Our meetings have taken place across Europe, North America and Australia, and we welcome opportunities to convene in new places.

Each year, the Document Academy annual meeting brings together 40–50 participants from around the world. Sessions are always plenary, or arranged in sequence, so that everyone has the chance to participate in everyone else's session.

Below you will find information, proceedings and more from past annual meetings. We are working to offer a more complete archive of past meetings, to include programs, papers, photos, etc. If you have anything we're missing, please let us know.
